Back to Vintage Friday and a rhapsody in blue today lol. I thought I would like to make a card that allowed me to create a rose as I haven't really tried for a long time and I was hoping to get it right, you will have to let me know what you think?
I stared by cutting the Caribbean background into a piece of coconut white foundation card using just the outline and one level of detail form the die. I then added this to a piece of double sided adhesive and added diamond snow in the corners and Blue large mica flakes in the centre panel as shown.
Next I framed this using the noble double pierced background dies cut in coconut white and blue dusk. I foam mounted the frame over the piece and then added stick on crystals to all the points in the centre oval.
I then debated what to put in the centre as I wanted to feature the rose so I stamped the poem / sentiment from my Vintage Rose clear stamp set ( these will be on the One Day Special on Hochanda on April the 11th and 12th) onto a piece of coconut white and cut it out using the stitched banners die set backing this with a larger flag in the blue dusk.
I added this over the centre oval and added a messy bow of wrinkled edge ribbon in white and a hat pin form the Sue Wilson stick pin elements set.
I then added the rose on the centre over 2 of the rose leaves cut form the Christmas Rose set shaded with blue sky colour cloud blending ink. The rose was made form various layers of coconut white petals / flowers cut form the Camellia complete petals set. I shaded this with more of the sky blue colour cloud and added diamond snow to add some sparkle!
It would be great to hear what you think and whether I got the rose right?!?

Another quick post today Im afraid showcasing 2 of the cards from yesterdays shows! As you may have gathered if you tuned in I made a lot of samples for these shows so I thought another twofer might help get through them!
I demonstrated the technique for making this simple background using the Atlantic Ocean collection at the start of the 12pm hour so you can see how this was made on www.hochcnda.com.
I simply added an additional frame in the centre, some gold flourishes and a flower cut alternately in black and white using the chrysanthemum die by Sue Wilson.

Its day 2 of my Hochanda shows featuring the Atlantic Ocean collection of dies by Sue Wilson. I thought I would share a couple more samples form the shows.
Today's first card features the Cape Verde die in Iris, Wisteria and coconut white. I added spray of nasturtium dies cut in velum with the outline dies cut in wisteria foundation card. I allow used the lace edged leaves and the rippled striplet to finish off the front.
Today's second card features the Atlantic ocean background this time teamed with the laced heart. I added the laced heart with brown satin ribbon using the matching treat cup to make a shakers card.
Tune in today at 9am, 12pm, 4pm and final call at 7pm to see how these and many more were made.

I'm back on your screens tonight at 8pm on Hochanda (freeview 85, Sky 663 and online at www.hochanda.com) I will be showing the Atlantic ocean collection designed by Sue Wilson and the fabulous dies and stamps that match. I thought I would share a couple of samples form the shows tonight and through tomorrow at 9am, 12pm, 4pm and final call at 7pm.
This first card is made using the infinity striplet and the Bermuda die from the Atlantic collection. I have used card form the card pack I have on the show which has these beautiful shades including the Mink, papyrus and peach I have used here.
The second card features the Atlantic Background ( a new fave) and the Spring Foliage die.
Tune in to see how these and many more were made!

I am back on your screens on Hochanda tomorrow night at 8pm then through the day on Wednesday with the Atlantic ocean collection by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions. I thought It was time I shared a few of the samples I made for the shows.
Today's card is one I made at my demo day at Samuel Taylor's in Brighouse on Saturday, well I stared it I added the extra layers and the bow when I got home I just had to finish this card!
I stared by cursing the detail and next square die from the Atlantic ocean background die into bright white foundation card., Next I cut a panel of primrose to match and embossed it with the die before adding it to the back of the die cut. Next I added a panel in the centre made by repeating the rippled striplet die cut up and set onto more of the primrose.
I then cut the spring foliage die twice in white and gently kissed the die cut with silver chrome glitter kiss. I then cut both of the styles of flowers that come with the spring foliage in primrose, shaped them and added them over the foliage as shown.
Next I embossed a piece of the white with the brambles rose embossing folder and added silver chrome glitter kiss over the raised pattern. There is a video of this technique on facebook and I will have a sow on this on Hochanda in April.
Finally I added a bow of silver ribbon and finished with a pearl embellishment and some more layers of white and primrose.

A frame and tag card today and one that is a little smaller and could easily be made without the embossed layer to make it a 5 x 5 card!
I stared by cutting the rippled striplet using both the detail and outline die in lilac foundation card. I then backed these in white using the outline die and added them to a square of wisteria foundation card.
Next I cut the No's 1, 2 and 3 dies from the Lucy frames and tags set in wisteria and backed this with white repeating the process with the remaining dies in the set in lilac, again backed in white. I arranged the die cuts as shown rotating the pieces to gain the overlap. I studded the piece with 3mm stick on pearls and added a backing of white embossed with the A4 honeycomb haven embossing folder with more layers of the white, wisteria and lilac.

A little more drama for today and one of my first cards made using the new Foundations mirror card. I haven't been a fan of mirror card recently as it can look a little brassy however this one has a strong gold colour and as you can tell from the picture doesnt crack when embossed.
I started by embossing a piece of mirror card wth the honeycomb haven A4 embossing folder which as mentioned didn't crack nor show any of the white backing.
Next I added 2 strips of black seam binding which works really well on the mirror card as it is slightly transparent so the colour shows through a little.
Next I cut the Jewelled heart in gold and in black cutting the centre heart out from the gold version and cutting the centre from the laced heart in the middle of the black heart. I then added the gold over the black to make a shadow and then added the centre cut gold heart behind this.
I then simply added a seam binding bow with added gold metallic linx and a Creative Expressions vintage button in the centre. The sentiment its made using the Love sentiment die in the jewelled heart die as a tag on line of the fall away hearts form the centre.

As promised its back to Vintage Friday and this weeks card does have a reason. I had n email from a lady in America who had purchased all the items need to make one of my cards form the Most Popular list on the right of the blog. She wrote asking for the sizes however as this card was made well over 2 years ago I wasn't able to find it to measure. Therefore I thought I would make a new version using the same die range the New York collection however altering the dies.
The finished size of the card is 9.5" x 7.5" it is a large card but as the dies are quite large and I used three in a row a large card was required.
If you want to see the original card then click HERE.
I stared by cutting the detail die in the times square die three times from French Navy foundation card. I backed these with white and cut them into a square using the noble double pierced squares die in bright white. Next I added these to panel of bright white foundation card embossed with the braided vines A4 embossing folder, cut to 7.25" x 8.25" I shaded the embossing using Mediterranean blue gilding polish.
I cut a strip of the french navy and added white seam binding down the middle with strips of crystals running down each side. I then added a messy bow of seam dining at the top with crystals in the centre and at the end of each ribbon strip.
Finally I added mats and layers of the blue and white to make the finished card as shown at 9.5" x 7.5"

How a bit of Drama for a Thursday and this black and antique gold card? This card is a simple one where all the drama and complexity comes form the gloss and pearl card.
I stared by cutting the infinity Striplet at the 2 ends of a strip of gloss black foundations card. I backed this with antique gold foundations pearl card. Next I cut a piece of gold twice with the striplet and backed these with gloss black before adding this into the middle of the gold piece.

Another sample card from my shows last week on Hochanda this time a classic petticoat card made using the Antlia Gemini die.
I stared by cutting panel with the outline die from the Olivia frame and tags die. next I cut the detail die into another panel again in white. next I embossed piece of wisteria and lilac card with the detail die. I cut the centre from the lilac and added this on top of the wisteria embossed piece before fitting it back into the white die cut. This gives the look of a paper pieced panel which is a lot quicker than paper piecing.
For the petticoat section i cut a strip of coconut white foundation card using the detail and one of theses form the Antlia Gemini die. I backed this with wisteria using the cutting edge to match the edge of the white. I repeated this and backed the second with lilac card. I then mounted these above each other and added the olive panel at the top.
I made up the card as shown using layers of the three colours and added a lilac bow form satin ribbon from my stash.

I thought I would hare this card which was one of my demos on hochanda shows last week. The One Day Special featuring these sold out but I'm sure if anyone missed out they are available in retail shops across the UK and rest of the world.
I stared by cutting the inner outline heart form the fluttering heart die set three time down the side of a piece of iris foundation card. I then added the coconut white piece behind and using theta sheet as a mask cut the detail inner heart ( with the butterflies) in all three centres
Next I cut the outline detail heart in iris, added gems around the inside edge and added this around the centre heart.
For the ribbon along the side I cut the rippled striplet twice down a piece of iris card. This falls into 2 separate piece which I added together in the centre with more of the crystals. A page made wit the Site Wilson pierced tags and the Love sentiment from the jewelled heart set a couple of butterflies form the fall away and finished.
Today I am filming a Youtube Live video all about the Fab new Glitter Kiss from Cosmic Shimmer. All the detail will be on facebook!

No today's blog has not moved into fashion the title is based on the die name and the colour of the card! I know this is an unusual combination of colours but somehow it works, to me at least.
I built up stripes of the Tan, Milk and Mink with the central panel embossed with the honeycomb heaven A4 embossing folder and strips of the thin satin ribbon.
I then cut the Lucy Frames and Tags die set in mink backed with milk. I mounted this over a section cut with the centre dies of the Lucy set in Tan and backed with mink. I placed this at the top off the 'Stripes' and added a Chrysanthemum made with pearls of all the three colours used in the main card. I added a messy bow of the cream thin ribbon and matching gold satin ribbon and a couple of stick pins.

I thought I would share this card today one I made especially for my Shows on Hochanda this week. I really wanted to highlight the beautiful detail in the Cassiopeia Gemini die.
I stared by cutting panels of coconut white, Cornflower and duck egg foundation card into strip 5" wide. I then cut the detail and outline die from the bottom into 2 strips of the white. I then cut just the bottom die from cornflower foundation card and married the 2 together.
I then cut the duck egg panels using the other outline die and mounted these over the other panels as shown. I then foam mounted one above the other and cut this whole piece to be 8" tall.
I foam mounted this on the top of the Gemini panels and then stamped the sentiment and cut it out using the centre die from the Megan set. I added a seam binding bow made with matching binding adding a pearl embellishment from Creative Expressions in the centre.
Finally I added larger white pearl strips to the top and bottom using a third strip along the line of the Gemini in the centre.
A few layers of the white, cornflower and duck egg finish the card.

I hope those of you who could enjoyed my shows over the last couple of days as much as I enjoy making them! Today finds me in Darlington at Franki's Craft. Coffee and Chat for 2 days of workshops.
As today is Colouring Saturday I thought I would share this card as on the stamp release posts I only showed the sentiment section! I have to say I am really happy how these red red roses have come out ( I really think these are so red they are red red lol)
Reds - 10, 15 and orange 22 ( to make the red shine) followed by warm grey in 1 and 3.
I used the 2 colours of grey to highlight the flourishes on the corners using the lighter grey to highlight the design.
I used the frame stamp from the set in the centre and added one of the sentiments from the set in the centre. I then coloured the roses and flourishes in the same colours. I cut this out using one of the double pierced rectangles and matted this in red and black as I felt the colouring could take the drama!
I made up the card as shown using the noble double pierced square dies its A and B to make the frame with the thin red band.
I then added a dramatic bow in black ribbon from my stash along with three red roses from the Craft Consortium always and forever range and a couple of stick pins.
