sketchy flowers...

Happy Wednesday,

Today's card is again made with scraps form my works desk!  I found the centre piece in a pile of stamped pieces i made on my Hochanda shows last week and the die cut was on top.  This in itself suggested this card!

The stamped image is made by stamping the cherry blossom stamp ( from the spring flowers set) through a mask first then stamping the image which gives the sketchy look shown here.  Next I ran the brayer after I had added ink to a media plate so that the ink ran over the top of the design.

To make up the card I cut the Find It flower frame ( available HERE) in brown then again in white.  I adhered the brown outer frame over the image then added back in the white frame as shown.  I then placed the outer die around the whole piece and ran this through my die cutting machine to cut the outer edge of the image.

I mounted this onto an embossed and shaded background ( using the leafy square embossing folder that was on the shows) and added a strip of ombre ribbon and a messy bow.

Enjoy...

  1. Morning John, a beautiful creation today, it is amazing what pops into your head when you see a little cut out isn't it. Yesterday I had my granddaughter pop in and she was saying that she was going to purchase some little led lights for her bedroom - idea!! - I had bought a packet I think from the cheapie shop which were lights in flower surrounds, her new bedroom is lilac and pink, so I got a metallic marker and coloured the outside of the light with it, talk about transform it, so she went home really happy as she has some colouring to do later.

Off to my craft group this morning, got lots to tell them thanks to you.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

  10. Good morning John,
Wow! a brilliant card, love it. It is amazing what "you" see in your scraps!!
I do now look at things before I bin them, not that I use many.
Maybe I need to look at them from a different angle in future!!
    Have fantastic day

  13. Eh up John
I only tend to only save bits of card rather than die cut bits so I will be a bit more discerning about what gets filed under B.I.N. lol!

  29. Hi John. Gorgeous card and love the die and as Myra says a good price. She is always tempting me to buy more dies (she knows I am only joking.). I may just be tempted on Saturday though. I will put it on my wish list. I am getting a long list of cards I must try. Off to see my granddaughter now.
