Green Leaves...

Happy Friday,

Todays card is a hybrid of a background acrd I made and the topper I brought home with me form my Hochanda shows.  I simply loved how this came out so wanted to make it into a finished card straight away!

The background is made by stamping the small solid leaves form the circle leaves clear stamp set onto the large media plate in Wax, verbena and emerald ixzink dye ink pads.  I stamped the leaves randomly over the plate and stamped this onto the card, I continued adding layers using the different colours of the inks and the plate.  Once I was finished I cut the background into three panels and matted them with dark green card.

For the topper I made a peacock feather print using the pigment and dye inks and again the media plate.  I then stamped over this with the floral circle stamp using the verbena, petrol and emerald inks.  I rotated the stamp in the press so that I built up layers of colours and design.  I cut this to a 4" square and again matted this onto dark green card.

Finally I used another piece of scrap from the shows to cut a selection of leaves and foliage and added this along the edge to add a little more detail to the card.

Enjoy...

  14. Eh up John
At first glance I thought the title was Green Sleeves.......I thought you'd done something featuring Henry viii or that was the state of your shirt after the Hochanda shows 😆😆😆.
Anyhoo, leaves it is and terrific ones at that. A smashing background that I can imagine in autumnal colours for Kate.
    Have a good day.

  21. Hi John. Love the colours of this card. I have just spent 3 hours trying to watch your first show on Tuesday. I did manage to get half way through and then the screen said that I had watched it all. I then tried to watch the second one and I got 6 seconds in when everything froze. It is so frustrating - I just want to watch what you have done!!! I am off out now to get a wireless extender to see if that helps.
