Shaded Autumn...

Happy Wednesday,

Quick post today I'm afraid as the internet is still playing up!

Today's card is made using the Autumn Wreath elements clear stamp set and the tumbling leaves background.  All the colouring is with three shades of Colour Cloud blending ink - Natural Rosewood, Sunlit Cedar & Decadent Bamboo.  A really easy card to replicate as the shading is done with smoothies over the stamped images to get the tonal look.

Springs Child...

Happy Tuesday,

A simple die cut and stamped card for today featuring the Springs Child poem.

I created a set of frames using the Creative Expressions double pierced squares and set B. I used these to frame a piece of the Ivy Lace paper in soft Holly form my Christmas Shades paper pack ( I created this paper pad so that t could be used for Christmas or any time of the year)

Next I stamped the poem, from the Birthday Seasons clear stamp set, onto the backing from the pad which is shaded to look like you have used colour cloud in watering can Archival ink.

I cut 2 flags by hand using other pieces form the paper pad to match and shaded these with decadent bamboo colour cloud around the edges.

Next I cut the its and the herbs from the spellbinders herbs dies and shaded these with a smoothie and more of the colour cloud .

I made up the card as shown

Shaded Trees...

Happy Monday,

Today I am demoing at Mountain Ash Crafts in Stourbridge so pop along if your around and need some entertaining on a Bank Holiday!

I thought I would share the original card That I was going to demo on my Hochanda shows last week.  However as we sold out of the colour clouds so quickly I changed the demo and thought it would be good to explain this one through instead.

I stared by shading a piece of coconut white foundation card in an ombre effect.  I used Natural Rosewood across the top.  Next I shaded from this to lighter using sunlit cedar.  Finally I shaded the final third of the card using Decadent Bamboo, this is a fabulous colour as it is brown or green depending on the light.

Next I embossed the piece using the silhouette tree pin point embossing folder.  I then ended lightly over the top to make the dots show in the original white.

Next I embossed a piece of dark roast coffee foundation card with the same folder. I then cut the embossed tree out using a pair of scissors ( this takes about 4 minutes so isn't as difficult as you would think)

I added the tree over the embossed panel using spray glue and added a stamped tag ( using the sentiment from the Autumn Wreath elements clear stamp set) and shaded around this using the colour cloud.

I stamped some of the leaves form the same set on card i had shaded with colour cloud and cut these out to form a focus around the tag.

Even Simpler...

Happy Sunday,

A demo card form this weeks shows, Im also pleased to let everyone who has asked that the stamps are now available for preorder fromwww.juliawattscrafts.co.uk.  They should be widely available form next Wednesday.  I love the simplicity of this card and if you want to see how this one was done simply watch the demo on catchup at www.hochanda.com.

I covered a plain piece of card using the Fern green metallic gilding polish.  next I added a layer of enchanted gold gilding polish over the top and embossed the whole piece with the silhouette tree pinpoint embossing folder.  Once embossed I added a layer of graphite gilding polish and polished the piece with kitchen roll

I added fern green gilding polish to the autumn wreath stamp and stamped it on coconut white foundation card.  I polished it after leaving it for a minute to dry as the stamping leaves a thicker layer of polish that can smear if not left to dry off.

I cut the wreath out by hand and taped the edges with more of the enchanted gold polish.

I made up the card as shown with a long bow of canvas ribbon.

A Simple Masculine Wreath...

Happy Saturday,

IM taking a rare Saturday off this week and prepping for another workshop at Rainbow Ribbons in Solihull tomorrow and at Mountain Ash Crafts on Bank Holiday Monday.

I thought I would show a couple of simple cards this weekend starting with this simple stamped use of the Autumnal wreath form the autumn elements clear stamp sets designed by me for this weeks shows.

I stamped the wreath in watering can archival ink.  I then coloured this with Distress markers using a water brush to pull out the colour and give some shading.

A simple mat of deep cocoa and a 5 x 5 card blank and a simple card finished another one great for the men I think!

A child for all seasons...Shows

Happy Thursday,

Firstly don't forget to join me tonight on Hochanda ( Freeview 39, Sky 669 or online at www.Hochanda.com) at 8pm for the Launch of my Autumns Child stamp range which is the final part of the series I have been running form December last year.  Every set will be available on the shows so if you missed any you will have a chance to get these as well!  I have also designed a new and final set to finish off the range a Seasons child set featured today.  This set is designed with a new hand written poem for each season, Spring, Summer, Autumn and finally winter.  Today I am showing e twofer with acrd for Autumn and winter.

Firstly Autumns child which I have teamed with the Soft Berry colour way of my Christmas Shades premium paper pack.  As I may have mentioned I designed this paper pad to be used all year like a puppy it's not just for Christmas lol
Each card I have made features a different flower die from the Creative Expressions craft dies range designed by Sue Wison.  Autumn is made using the Exquisite Poppies along with the Olive Branch foliage cut in Gold.

Next is Winters child, I designed these to make cards for us all or to be perfect sentiments to go inside cards on inserts, use the appropriate month stamp for the Birthday and follow this with the Season poem in the insert.

The other Idea was I thought these would be perfect for people who sell their cards allowing a semi personalised card that has a shelf life of at least 3 months ( I was thinking of you steph!lol)

This time I teamed the stamps with the Saphire colour way of the paper pack and the Holly Spray cut in silver and the Festive Snowflakes dies which Phill Martin has been making Fabulous cards with lately!

Join me tonight at 8pm on Hochanda ) Freeview Chanel 39 or online at www.hochanda.com) or tomorrow (Friday) at 9am, 12pm, 4pm and last chance at 7pm!

Herbs Away...

Happy Wednesday,

Another sneak peak from my new Autumn relate as well as sample and demo cards form Tomorrows launch shows on Hochanda!  I thought I would show another demo card this time using my favourite stamp from the Herb Elements set ( and I have to admit one of my Favourite plants) the lavender.

This is a simple stamping job with just one stamp used for the whole card ( excl the sentiment which is on the same set)  I stamped the lavender in the pot and coloured it using archival pigment ink pads and Distress markers for the flowers.  I then masked off an area across a square of coconut white foundation card and used the lavender in the pot to stamp across the card.  The masked area allowed me to exclude the pot making it look like a filed of the flowers.

A simple set off layers and a sentiment and done.

This will be a demo on Hochanda on Thursday so tune in if you want to see how exactly this was made.

Septembers Child is...

Happy Tuesday,

As promised here is the first sample made using my Autumns child clear stamp set related on Thursday!  This is the final set and has the hand written poems for September, October ( the hardest as its my birthday) and November.  Ive also used my favourite new Background the tumbling leaves which is coloured using ink pads!  I intend too demo this on Thursday so tune in to see how this is achieved.

With the move I ended up taking the pictures of this card on my mantle piece as I didn't have the light tent set up properly.

A few pictures to show you the elements I love the poem for this month.

the leaves are a spellbinders die that I have on the show at a really good price along with some Herb dies that work really well with the Herb elements clear stamp set I'll share with you tomorrow.

enjoy...

Autumns Child...

Happy Monday,

Well its sneak peek time this week and the launch of the Final set in my Birthday Year stamps I started in December, now don't worry I have an idea for next years set this time launching in November I think.  I love the way these have been able to collect over the year although I probably should have started each set a month later!

The stamps along with my Autumn range of stamps launch on Thursday night at 87pm exclusively on Hochanda as part of the Birthday week which is especially pertinent to me as I launched the very first One Day Special on there a year ago this weekend!

I have chosen a card showing the Autumn elements for todays post as I feel it really sums up the autumnal feel I was going for and is perfect for mens cards which always give us Crafters a hard time!

You may notice that the sentiment on this card is for Autumns child I have designed a new set that has a hand written poem for each season which should prove useful for this who sell their cards allowing a level of personalisation with a minimum 4 month shelf life.  There are poems nd sentiment for Spring, Summer, Autumn and winter!

Here on the back is the new background stamps, which I have to admit is a little different form my usual style however I love it its so flexible.

All the elements to make this card are available on the show and uses colour cloud and black archival ink for the stamping and colouring.

More details on the Autumns child set tomorrow!

Enjoy...

Crafthathon...

Happy Saturday,

Well I'd love to report that the internet is all up and running and Im back on track but I can't.  Within 10 minutes of the engineer leaving the speed had dropped nothing and it's gonna take Sky nearly a week to send someone out to sort the time that doesn't work!  Im hoping this post goes live! lol

I thought I would are the 2 projects I have specially made for tomorrow craftathon with the brilliant Mr Phill Martin tomorrow.  The idea of the day is you spend half the time with me making 2 projects and the other half with Phill making further 2!  This has meant a lot of recutting to ensure everyone gets time to finish the projects.

Todays is the first card made using Pixie powders and Dies by Sue Wilson Here Ive used the Stitched lattice set along with the Equate Poppies and the Antwerp die.  I have also used my Nasturtium Elements clear stamp set for the sentiment which, as you may have noticed matches the centre shape form the Belgian collection of dies.  This makes getting the right sentiment so easy!

The card is made up as shown using just one sheet of watercolour card and the Silver Dream, Purple Violet and Midnight blue pixie powders.

Enjoy...
