Mauritius in blue...

Happy Wednesday,

Well what a busy set of shows yesterday Im sorry the villages sold out so quickly Ill let everyone know as soon as they are back in stock!

back to today and I thought It would be a nice change of pace to show another card made with the new die release form Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions.  This is using the stunning new Indian Ocean collection Background which I used on this card as the background over the embossed panel ( made using the pinpoint circles embossing folder covered with pearl lustre metallic gilding polish)

I cut the Mauritius die in cobalt, aqua and baby blue foundation card and back each one with white.  I cut the 2 lighter shades inhale and matched the 2 pieces together.  Next I mounted these on top of each other rotated to make a square.  I cut the cobalt die cut in half and out it back together to make a square which I added on the top.

I simply added three of the doodled flowers which IO shaped with my ball toll adding the centres using self adhesive pearls and dots of frosted sky PVA dimensional glue.  A spare of ribbon from my stats and finished ( with a few mats and layers of course)

I will be demoing this card and many others at Sharon's Card Craft in swanky tomorrow and at Crafty Company in Fleetwood this Saturday!

Enjoy...

  22. Good morning John,
Oh it's nice to see a John card again ( a blue card) lol, and it looks so lovely John done in the two shades of blue. I really like when sue does the country or in this case the islands sets as I love the varied sizes of dies that can give those lovely layers and change the look of things with just a die change. Thank you flower for such a beautiful card today and I hope that you are now settled into your new house and it will be soon a home for you.
    Love and crafty hugs

  28. Hi John,
what a very super card, and such a very fetching design and colour choices.
Those flowers remind me of Spirelli, and would be great with cottons wound round them also.
So glad your Hochanda prgram was such a success.
Lots of crafty regards. Jenny L.

  29. John this is a beauty, love the shades of blue you have used as it brings out the lovely detail on the dies and of
course your layering makes it so beautiful.
I really enjoyed the shows on hochanda and was amazed at how easy you made the start look.

  30. I enjoyed the shows and resisted the village!! At my age and with no family it would have been pointless to get it -but if I'd been younger it would have been wonderful.maybe made in December by a family as an Advent project -2or 3 items a day.
I like today's card but am overwhelmed by the constant steam of new SW dies and have given up buying them entirely. I'd love to see cards made using the older dies again.
